Amy Johnson, Founder
Independent Support Broker
NYS Housing Navigator
Spectrum Services was founded by Amy Johnson, a mother of two amazing children with different abilities. In her younger years, she enjoyed a career as a Development Officer at the University of Rochester while she raised her daughter who has epilepsy and a rare brain disorder. When her son was born 10 years later and was diagnosed with autism, Amy decided to stay at home with her children. For the past 30 years, Amy has the experience of navigating services and supports for her children, including out-of-state programs and emergency housing for her son.
She has also served the community through fundraising, advocacy, volunteer work and continued her education in disability services in a variety of ways including:
- Board of Directors, Stepping Stones Learning Center
- Chairperson, Walk Now for Autism Rochester
- Family & Community Liaison, Autism Speaks
- Advocacy Ambassador, Autism Speaks
- Walking on Sunshine Committee, Mary Cariola Center
- Brand Advisory Panel, Mary Cariola Center
- Partners in Policymaking Certificate, Cornell University, Institute on Employment and Disability
- NYS Independent Broker
- NYS Housing Navigator
Amy is accepting Housing Navigation Clients at this time. Her Support Broker Clients caseload is full, however, she is willing to assist as broker for up to one year with her housing clients to ensure a smooth transition.
Spectrum Services is interested in collaborating with other Independent Brokers, Housing Navigators and other service providers to collaborate, share resources and create best practices to better serve our clients. If you are interested in partnering with Spectrum Services please contact us.
